Players move John Constantine in an RPG-like style, collecting ammo, using an item to restore health and casting spells. Gameplay is a type of third-person shooter style, with changing camera views. Players can select from a variety of weapons to eliminate demons. Cutscenes initiate special missions or boss battles when they occur, giving a round of gameplay a different view.

The game stars John Constantine, the main character from the movie Constantine and the comic book series, Hellblazer, as he learns that unholy animals are somehow crossing into the realm of earth without care. He is then sent by his associate, Beeman, to investigate this problem.Along his investigation he meets up with Father Hennessy, who provides support, along with the Storm Crow spell.

The game starts out as John is called in to dispel a demon from a little girl's body in a hotel. (Just like in the movie.) After the exorcism is completed, the girl wakes from her hypnosis, feeling better. The screen then cuts to Beeman's office, where John is being informed about the weakened line between Hell and Earth by Beeman. John then steps into a puddle in the corner of the room, utters an incantation and winds up in Hell.

The PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions received "mixed or average reviews" according to video game review aggregator Metacritic.[13][14] In Japan, Famitsu gave the Xbox version a score of one eight and three sixes for a total of 26 out of 40.[5]

Note: The cheats and tricks listed above may not necessarily work with your copy of the game. This is due to the fact that they generally work with a specific version of the game and after updating it or choosing another language they may (although do not have to) stop working or even malfunction.

A video game adaptation of the Constantine movie from 2005 which was developed by Bits Studios and released for PC, PS2 and Xbox. Same devs who also developed Wolverine: Adamantium Rage and a couple of Spider-Man games in the 90s actually. Constantine is a third person shooter that puts you in the shoes of John Constantine, an unholy union of a hard-boiled noir detective and an exorcist.

The game's setting is LA and John can switch inbetween the real world and Hell just by stepping on water and performing an enchantment. Apparently, Hell is just an infernal reflection of the actual world, not unlike the Otherworld from Silent Hill. Once you enter Hell, the screen even takes on that very same grainy filter you know and love from any Silent Hill game. Switching inbetween both realities is required to advance through the games and solve some puzzles. Puzzles that are quite easy to solve and are pretty sparse throughout the entire game - Constantine is all about action, for the most part.

The weapons at your disposal definitely look pretty unique as you can tell by the cross-shaped shotgun John is wielding on the game cover. The shotgun spread is also cross-shaped, which is pretty cool. Your starting weapons are a couple of mean looking revolvers, the Witch's Curse. Later on, you'll get the Crucifier, which is essentially the Nailgun from Quake since... it shoots nails. Its rapid rate of fire as well as the added advantage of being able to pick up the nails you just fired and use them again made this my go-to weapon for most of the game. Not to mention how you can even upgrade the nails as long as you manage to find the upgrades. Incendiary nails? Sounds good. Nails that ricochet off the walls? Yeah sure, why not. Explosive nails? Sign me in. Needess to say, the Crucifier became pretty OP towards the end of the game.

You also get the Holy Shotgun which isn't too shabby at all, a flamethrower called Dragon's Breath which was wack but pretty effective against a certain boss and the Purger which is a powerful crossbow with a very slow rate of fire. You also have 'grenades' of sort: Holy Water bombs that reveal the true identity of demons disguised as humans making them more vulnerable to attacks, the Screech Beetle which stuns enemies and the Shrouds of Moses that annihilates all demons on the screen. And you also have spells you can perform, the most useful being Storm Crow, which looks a lot like Force Lighting and never fails to burn all surrounding demons to a crisp. Can't be used against bosses. It's so OP, that all spells you learn later in the game feel completely useless and redundant, who needs to make demons fight each other or turn them into stone when you can just kill them in one fell swoop?

Your spell energy recharges slowly over time as well as by killing demons and absorbing their souls, so you can't abuse it too much. Constantine also has a power called True Sight which allows him to navigate darker areas, find out secrets and see through a demon's disguise. When you use True Sight, the game switches to first person and I used this power quite a bit because of how useful it is and because I needed the improved aiming sometimes. During combat, you can also perform a 180 turn - this is not only useful to fend off enemies trying to creep behind you, but also because it activates a sort of bullet time-like slowdown.

The minimum memory requirement for Constantine is 500 MB of RAM installed in your computer. Provided that you have at least an NVIDIA GeForce 510 graphics card you can play the game. To play Constantine you will need a minimum CPU equivalent to an Intel Core i3-2340UE.

This game provides the facility to rotate the camera angle accordingly. The player can adjust the camera according to the need. This Camera Angle rotation facility is also provided in GTA Vice City Game and is also very common in the Call of Duty Gaming Series.

The interface of the game is designed in such a way that it gives you real-time updates that how many bullets are left for a specific pistol or gun. The player can use multiple guns in it, but it will show the real-time remaining bullets of the selected items. When you see that the number of bullets is low, you can select another gun from the collection.

No-CD & No-DVD Patch troubleshooting: The most common problem getting a No-CD/No-DVD patch to work is ensuring that the No-CD/No-DVD patch matches you're game version, because the games exe is changed when a patch update is applied previous versions won't work.

If its an older game you are playing and you are running Windows 7 or Windows 8 it may not work, if you right click the .exe file and choose Properties and then Compatibility you can change this to run in Windows 98/ Windows 2000 etc. You can find more information on the Beginners Help page here

Constantine, THQ's upcoming action game based on the film of the same name, was one of the playable games at THQ's press event this evening. The game casts you in the role of John Constantine, an occultist detective whose line of work has him running in some truly dark circles. The game's plot, which will mirror the film's, will find you attempting to discover exactly what's behind the seemingly random, mystical events that are bringing demons into our world (hint: it's nothing good). Over the course of the investigation, you'll discover the larger, more ominous implications of the events and have to deal with the mysterious and deadly Mammon.

The demo of the game on display at the event focused on one aspect of the adventure, John's scenic tours of hell. One of the unique game mechanics in Constantine is the ability to shift from the real world to hell by standing in puddles of water. Once you cross over, you'll encounter a number of obstacles in the form of demons and dangerously bad architecture.

Control in the game is reasonably solid, although you may find yourself going through and adjusting some of the options, such as auto-targeting, aiming speed, and turning sensitivity, to name just a few. Constantine handles pretty well, but he has some definite quirks that need ironing out.

The graphics in the game are looking solid and have improved since our last look at it. John Constantine's model is well done and bears a great resemblance to Keanu Reeves. The enemies you face off against, which are mostly an evil assortment of demons, aren't quite as sharply done but still look good, thanks to their disturbing designs. The environments are stylish and complemented by a good mix of effects. Of the two versions, the Xbox edges out the PlayStation 2 by a respectable margin, thanks to the number of special effects on display. 041b061a72
